Add to that a staircase in production and cabinets about ready to install....bring on the next week or two!

Making the most of the sunshine

Thankyou Victoria for the unseasonally mild weather this past week - the exterior paintwork is finished.*

*except for when the painter ran out of paint right near the end, so there is a little patch on the North facade which may be rectified, or may be something we complete right before we sell up and move to a Docklands apartment in twenty years time.

To ablute in peace

A bath in the downstairs bathroom...


and a walk-in shower with floor tiles draining to a grate in the up.

That makes 2 bathrooms, TWO! bathrooms, meaning we will have the ability to get up in the morning and go to the bathroom without 3 busting children immediately materialising outside the door. When can we move in?

A finished floor

We made a trip yesterday to see the first finish in the house. Our concrete slab has been burnished, sanded and sealed and now has just a final sand and seal to go. We think it looks fantastic!

A status report

#1 Plaster is on and joins are all stopped up.

#2 The children have taken ownership of their rooms.

#3 Paint, carpet & tiles are almost selected (though not actually the ones in these photos).

#4 The shed has been marked out


#5 The site has got a bit messy

#6 Despite #5 the builder is looking pretty happy.

A real colour board

This is the state of our current lounge room. We have: potential paint colours on plasterboard offcuts, potential carpets, potential bathroom tiles and a glimpse of the current state of affairs for quilt #2.

Exciting times indeed!

A peek at the plaster

As plaster goes on, real rooms emerge and whilst we kind of miss the ability to gaze through the walls at the whole explanse of house, it is pretty exciting getting to the pointy end of this project!
